Hi, When I started doing push ups for real, from the feet, I found it very hard. I still find them hard. But what I find helps, is doing them in sections. If your doing pushup maybe start with 5 push ups from the feet, and then move down to do 5 from the knees. You have to work into them, and gradually move up. Im still in that process, I know longer do them from my knees, but now, I would do a few army style push up where you make a triangle with your hands, then once I can't do that anymore, I do the normal push ups.
Dips at home can be easy, All you need is some sort of ledge and you don't need a huge space, use the ledge of your chair, or a foot stool, the end of your bed, or you could do them off the floor as well.
hope this helps I am no expert. Just my own thoughts from my experiences. |

I use a chair against a wall to do my dips (since I don't have a coffee table) _________________ also known as "shorty" |

| This is coming from someone who doesn't have all the answers, but, pushups are a great chest exercise. If you want to train arms at home, you can use anything you can hold comfortably. Start by loading a couple cans of soup in a grocery bag and using them for arm curls(biceps). Then use them for bent over tricep extensions. If they are not too cumbersome you can use them for shoulder presses also. You can use paint cans, gocery bags(with some weight added), even just picking up a can of juice or a large can of tomatoes. What ever you can hold, you can use for weight. There are lots of exercises you can do at home without complicated machines or multiple resources. I suggest that if you haven't traines with weights before, that you consult a professional on proper form or search the web for step by step instructions on how to properly perform the exercises. Just my two cents worth. OK you got a nickle. |
